Free Hosting Might Not Be The Best Option For You – Our Experience
Our readers might have noticed that our website was down for a couple of days, which was a great cause of concern for Team Boundbytech, since we had started losing our readers and our rankings started to decrease. After we looked into the issue, we noticed that our account at 000webhost had been suspended due to excessive bandwidth usage.
For starters, free hosting might seem to be a great option, and reduces the amount of investment required for setting up a website considerably. The same at 000webhost seemed to be quite appealing with its 100GB bandwidth. What we didn’t know was that this bandwidth wouldn’t be enough for a site which has started receiving 3000-4000 pageviews a day. In a about a month of using the free hosting, our account was suspended at their site for crossing bandwidth usage limits and received the following message on logging into the cPanel :
“Suspended (Suspended for violating 20%+ CPU usage limit for more than 1000 times. Please upgrade to our premium UNLIMITED hosting at www.hosting24.com to get your account reactivated.)”
The situation went from bad to worse when we saw that all the files from our FTP client had been deleted, along with the deletion of SQL databases. On navigating to the backups tab, we saw no backup of our files ( which 000webhost claimed to have been taking regularly since day one ) and had lost everything. Losing everything all of a sudden is a great shock for anyone who’s been working hard towards building a website. We recovered many posts from Blogger, from which we had recently migrated to WordPress, but where unable to retrieve all the settings, plugins, and a lot of posts.
A lot of hardwork was put into getting everything up again, after buying hosting from BlueHost, which offers unlimited bandwidth, domains and a lot more at nominal charges, which can be considered as an investment towards a successful website.
We’re sorry for taking so much time for getting our website back up. For those of you who take part in our giveaways, we have extended the timeframe of the previous giveaway and you can take part in it by navigating to the Giveaways tab. Also, Boundbytech does not recommend the free hosting by 000webhost based on our experience with them, where we noticed a lot of false promises and promotion of their paid hosting services at the cost of people’s hardwork.

Even I have found that 000webhost is unreliable. They once said that there's some DDoS attack on the server I am using, so the website will be down for 6hrs. But as a matter of fact, it was down for more than 24hrs.

Switching to Bluehost was a good option. I have some discount codes, anyone can contact me for them. I will be more than happy to provide them to you.
